Over recent years the Saltino Vallombrosa Pro Loco tourist office actively promoted the complete restoration of the chapels and shrines. Much was achieved through the selfless, enthusiastic help of experts, scholars, public officials and keen supporters and, above all, generous, crucial co-financing by a Florentine bank, Ente Cassa di Risparmio, which paid for the restoration of nearly all the chapels and shrines. Furthermore, the Lions Club Distretto 108L in Tuscany contributed to the restoration of one of the chapels. We ask visitors to respect these buildings: we should remember that the duty of people of culture is to hand down their artistic and historical heritages to future generations in the best possible condition.
